What services does your organization provide?
InterFit provides the physical support necessary to hike, kayak, camp and just about anything else outdoors.


Do you have any age requirements?
Must be 18 or have a signed consent form by a guardian and physically fit.


Do you require language proficiency other than in English?
No.


What time commitment(s) are you expecting from a volunteer?
Hikes range from 2 to 6 hours mostly weekends but some evenings be committed (no last minute back out or no show)


Are there any other requirements for being a volunteer?
Must fill out an application and sign a waiver


Are there any specific skills and experience required?
You should be fit or working at it and willing to interact with different people both as team player and leader.


What type of volunteer positions are typically available?
Interfit always needs sherpas (trail porters), hike leaders and often requires event managers and assistants.


Is there any training provided for volunteers?
You will be trained in some communication and interactive skills when supporting people with disabilities. You will also learn how to safely use and maintain our adaptive equipment


What are the typical volunteer activities occurring at your organization?
Volunteer sherpas push and pull people with physical disabilities in the adapted hiking chairs on local trails, assist with camping duties and assist with planning and delivery of fundraising events.

There are many benefits to volunteering with Interfit, its good for your health (physical fitness), its good for your spirit (helping others) and its a good way to meet new people.


Do you accept high school students?
High school students are welcome as long as they are physically able to fulfill the requirements.
