What services does your organization provide?
Financial assistance, Housing support, Food supplements for low income individuals and families, Counselling, Resettlement counselling and support to newcomers, Senior services (preventing social isolation, alleviating poverty, preventing or managing crises, supporting independence and healthy aging, and promoting inclusion), Vocational support.


Do you have any age requirements?
There is no minimum age though volunteer opportunities will of course differ by age group.


Do you require language proficiency other than in English?
We are very happy to have anyone volunteer, regardless of language skills. We do, however, especially encourage interested people with language skills in Russian, Hebrew, German, Hungarian, Romanian, etc. as we have special volunteer opportunities for speakers of those languages.


What time commitment(s) are you expecting from a volunteer?
Time commitments can vary quite extensively from a very casual contribution at events once per year, to an ongoing commitment of a few hours a week. We can discuss volunteer opportunities you may be interested in relative to your availability, and work around your needs and ours.


Are there any other requirements for being a volunteer?
A Police Information Check is required of all volunteers, cost of which is covered.


Are there any specific skills and experience required?
Our volunteer opportunities can range from providing entertainment to seniors to providing translation to bringing food to those who need it on holidays to stocking food items in our food bank. Given the range of opportunities we have, we can find something to match your abilities and desires in volunteering.
