Institution Profile

The BI Norwegian School of Management was started in Oslo, Norway in 1943 as a private institution that offered evening classes. Today, the institute has over 18000 full time and part time students with nearly 340 faculty members. The institute received the European Quality Label Equis in 1999 and is a member of the European Foundation for Management Development. At the master degree level, all courses are taught in English and attract a number of exchange students. All international students are assigned a mentor to help in both personal and academic development.

The BI Norwegian School of Management has a bachelor degree course in business administration which provides students with the opportunity to take part in exchange programs during their third year. A Master of Science degree is also available for eight different subjects. These are full time courses, which last for two years. A full time MBA course and a part time executive MBA program are also provided, with the latter offering study opportunities in China. Executive business courses for subjects like technology management and energy management are available as well.

Research opportunities and a doctoral program can be pursued at the BI Norwegian School of Management. The doctoral course extends for three years and is currently offered for five subjects. Those who are interested in research, can choose to work in one of nine different departments. The institute is also home to a wide number of specialized research centers.
