As the university is open to both the exchange program and visiting students, they may opt for these courses. There are a vast number of subjects under the humanities, science and social sciences streams. Doctoral study opportunities are also available.
A number of research projects are underway at Stockholm University. It takes special pride in being the host to no less than four Nobel Laureates over the years, namely Svante Arrhenius, Hans von Euler-Chelpin, George de Hevesy and Paul Crutzen. For the past 25 years, the university has also been engaged in providing a number of public lectures. A special time period is set aside in the month of October specially for research presentations. All the public lectures are offered free of charge. The university also works with a number of schools, providing special activities for children so they become more familiar with the ideas of research and scientific thinking.
