Profile of Career College/Trade School

Bighorn Helicopters Flight School can be found in the city of Calgary in Canada. It is a private career college that offers specialized training in flying helicopters. The training facility is based at the operational Springbank airport near the city. Bighorn Helicopters Flight School is licensed as a private vocational school under the Private Vocational Schools Act.

If you have always wished to meddle around with the controls in a cockpit, then this school is for you. Bighorn Helicopters Flight School offers four main courses – Commercial Helicopter Pilot course, Commercial Helicopter Pilot Alternate Course, Commercial Pilot License course and Additional training in mountain and night flying.

The training program at Bighorn Helicopters Flight School includes not only basic flying skills, but also advanced skills that help pilots with a commercial license. As the school is also a commercial operator, students are taught skills that are in demand by helicopter operators. This gives them a competitive advantage over students from other helicopter flight schools.

Students are trained to work in different flying conditions - both in the prairies as well as in the mountains. They also learn to work with air traffic controllers. The students undergo flight stimulator training for five hours in all courses. After completion of the course, students may be employed as helicopter pilots by Bighorn Helicopters as well as by other operators.
