Based in Alberta, the Cooking Lake Aviation Academy Inc. offers a range of flight training programs for all sorts of students, whether they are looking to get a private pilot license or embark on a full-fledged career in flying. Studies have shown that commercial aviation will be facing a boom in North America soon and there will be a high demand for trained pilots.
Cooking Lake Aviation Academy Inc. offers a wide range of flight training courses, including recreational flying, private and commercial flight training, night rating, float endorsement, mountain endorsement, instrument rating and multi-engine rating. The academy has also developed a specialized financing program in association with the Air Transport Association of Canada, which gives its students alternate payment options.
The academy has its facilities next to Cooking Lake which consists of a paved runway, 68 hangar lots, a float plane facility and the only Bare Land Condominium Airport in the country. The academy also has repair and paint shops as well as an Automated Weather Observation Station, a rotating beacon, a Vertical Approach Slope Indicator System and Radio controlled airport lighting.
In addition, Cooking Lake Aviation Academy Inc. offers students a diploma program which is conducted in conjunction with Grant MacEwan College. The program offers a diploma in Management Studies with pilot and aviation ratings and endorsements. This provides students with back up skills in case they are unable to pursue a career in aviation.
