The New Dawn Enterprises is a non-profit organization established in 1976. It aims to provide community-building services in the Cape Breton area in Nova Scotia. The isolated Breton area needs financial and social programs. New Dawn Enterprises offers healthcare, training and other social development services.
The New Dawn Enterprises works with Highland Resources Limited to provide training to students. It offers vocational courses to enable its students to improve their chances of landing a better job. The Industrial Training Division trains people in practical work in industry, including Welding. The Welding course is available in Basic and Advanced format. The Basic format covers standard welding techniques, while the advanced course deals with High Pressure Welding. The curriculum also includes hands on training in a real industrial setting.
The Management Program at New Dawn Enterprises deals in supervisory management. The Certificate in Supervisory Management trains students in managerial communications, Canadian laws, planning and organizational behavior.
Healthcare Training at the New Dawn Enterprises is at the core of the New Dawn Enterprises training programs. The Continuing Care Assistant Program helps graduates find jobs in the healthcare industry, working at clinics, rehabilitation centers, old age homes and residential care providers.
Apart from running these courses, the New Dawn Enterprises also provides resume writing and employment search services to graduates as well as other members of the community.
