Atlantic Baptist University located in Moncton, New Brunswick in Canada was founded in 1949. Though it began as a school, the institution evolved over the years to become a university in 1996. Today, the college offers both biblical studies and programs in science and arts. Being a Christian institution, the emphasis is on grooming students to appreciate and understand God’s intervention in day to day activities. The college offers wide range of graduate courses in arts, science, education and business. One can do a Bachelor of Arts program majoring in subjects including History, English, Religious Studies, Biblical Studies, Communication, Psychology and Sociology. The college offers a Bachelor’s in Business Administration co-op degree whereby the student gets hands on experience through a summer internship program with prospective employers. Those who want to be teachers can pursue a Bachelor’s degree in education or go for advanced courses in education. Science students can take up B.Sc. in Biology where a wide variety of courses are offered. These include Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Genetics, Immunology, Biochemistry, Environmental Issues and Ecology. Atlantic Baptist University has an Adult Learner Professional Studies (ALPS) aimed at employed adults. Programs available through ALPS include an accelerated B. A. in Organizational Management and undergraduate courses in English Literature, History, Natural Science, Languages, Religious Studies and Accounting. For those who want to get a basic understanding of Christian studies, they can take up a one year certificate course called Christian Foundation.
