Located in Toronto, Canada, the Institute for Christian Studies imparts graduate education with a religious touch. The college is affiliated with the Toronto School of Theology at the University of Toronto and the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities. It provides regular and distance education programs to students. The various programs offered by the college include Master’s degree in Philosophy and world view studies. The Institute for Christian Studies also offers doctoral degree in a wide range of subjects, such as Theology, Biblical studies, Anthropology, Philosophy and Ethics. The doctoral degree is awarded jointly with the Free University of Amsterdam. In addition, the college offers summer courses. The distance learning courses cover various topics, including leadership, Christianity, Philosophy and Ethics. Established in 1967, the Institute for Christian Studies organizes a wide range of events that include educational seminars, conferences and lectures. The college’s regular events include Art Talks!, which is an annual lecture series on Christianity and the arts; and the Worldview Conferences for the Christian public, which are held at several locations throughout Canada and the United States. The college operates a library that offers a wide range of print and online educational resources, such as audio recordings of lectures, informative online links, academic papers and a bibliographic database. The college prints its quarterly newsletter, Perspective, which provides information on course details, events and various happenings at college.
