Steinbach Bible College was founded in the province of Manitoba in 1936 but its beginnings go back to 1931 when the college began with just 13 students. Today the college offers a wide range of training programs and courses which are taught with an Evangelical Anabaptist focus. The college is a member of Christian Higher Education Canada and the Association for Biblical Higher Education. Steinbach Bible College holds spiritual development and Christian life skills to be paramount in every student's education. Students are encouraged to attend daily chapel services and take an active role in care groups, which are formed to help each student grow as part of the academic and spiritual community. An all-college retreat is held annually and community day is held once a semester, where the entire day is devoted to prayer and spiritual pursuits. The college currently offers a range of certificate and diploma programs for subjects such as biblical studies and ministry studies. Three-year bachelor degree programs are also available for courses such as theology, worship arts and peer counseling. Full time and part time classes as well as classes for occasional students are available too. The college also has a student missionary program, which consists of field education, practical application of skills and internships. Students are also encouraged to join the college's worship team, 30-voice choir or the drama troupe. The college also has an athletics program complete with gym facilities which the students may use.
