  • Justice Studies Diploma: Law Enforcement Specialization - Bow Valley College
    The Justice Studies Diploma at Bow Valley College is a two-year (four semester) career program that allows someone to specialize in youth justice, law enforcement, or correctional studies. All Justice Studies Diploma students take the same set of courses in Year 1 and take courses specific to their specialization in Year 2.

  • Police Studies - Grant MacEwan College
    Grant MacEwan College's 2-year Legal Assistance diploma program readies students for employment in legal office administration and related areas. The Program will equip students with the attitudes, work habits, and skills required to effectively perform the duties required of those employed in a legal administration environment.

  • Aboriginal Police Studies - Grant MacEwan College
    Grande Prairie Regional College's Bachelor of Arts in Criminology allows students to complete up to the first 60 credits, 2 years, of a 4-year Criminology degree before transferring to a university to complete the remaining 2 years. The Program provides students with 'the foundations of a liberal arts education' while enabling them to engage in an in-depth study of various aspects of' Criminology.

  • Criminal Justice - Policing (2 years) - Lethbridge Community College
    Lethbridge Community College's 2-year Diploma in Criminal Justice - Policing prepares students with the knowledge and skills to pursue a careers in police work, or related fields. Students will acquire 'a comprehensive understanding of the criminal justice system and a valuable range of practical skills and abilities.' Students are encouraged to partake in a multitude of work experience opportunities in order to test out a diverse range of abilities.

  • Police Recruit Training - Lethbridge Community College
    Lethbridge Community College's 1-year Police Recruit Training certificate readies students for careers in policing or related areas. The Program has been 'developed in collaboration with the four police services of southern Alberta and Lethbridge Community College to address the specific education and training needs of their new recruits.' Graduates will possess skills that 'meet or exceed provincial standards in the areas of police recruit training.'

  • Police and Security Diploma - Medicine Hat College
    Medicine Hat College's 2-year Diploma in Police and Security aims to ready students 'to enter any one of many areas of public, contract and private law enforcement or security fields.' Although the Program provides students with a general 'liberal arts education,' the focal point will be 'on preparing candidates for a rewarding career in law enforcement in Canada.'

  • Transition to Policing and Security - NorQuest College
    NorQuest College's 10-month Transition to Policing and Security program is specifically 'designed to help English as a second language students' prepare 'to pass recruiting entrance assessments for various employers' while also completing all of the required courses to achieve a NorQuest Policing and Security certificate.' The latter prepares students to 'meet the entrance requirements for' various police services in Alberta and across Canada.'

  • Prep for Policing and Security Program - NorQuest College
    NorQuest College's 20-week Prep for Policing and Security Program is a bridging program 'designed for students who need to upgrade their academic skills for entry into the' 10-month 'Aboriginal Policing and Security program.' Depending upon their respective requirements, participants in the bridging program will either enter the academic or language stream.

  • Aboriginal Policing and Security - NorQuest College
    NorQuest College's 10-month Aboriginal Policing and Security program prepares graduates to 'meet the entrance requirements for' various police services in Alberta and across Canada. The Program will include technical/theoretical, classroom-based instruction, field trips, fitness training, and work experience.

  • Aboriginal & Community Policing - Northern Lakes College
    Northern Lakes College's Certificate in Aboriginal and Community Policing prepares students 'to pass the entrance requirements for training in various police services' across Canada. Although the Program has primarily been designed 'in response to the need for Aboriginal and Community Policing recruits' non-First Nations students are welcome and training will cover 'policing of all communities.'
