HEC Montreal

Founded in 1907, HEC Montreal is Canada's oldest business school, and, with upwards of 240 professors and more than 33 management study programs spanning the bachelor, master, and doctorate levels, it is one of the largest and most extensive institution of its kind in North America. In fact, HEC's Master of Business Administration (MBA) program offers more than 100 specialization courses to choose from which makes it one of the most ambitious MBAs in the world.

Making use of a broad range of pedagogical approaches, primarily 'case studies, debates and discussions, seminars, and lectures by guest managers,' to educate students, HECMontreal is a multilingual school proffering courses and programs in English and French and many courses in Spanish. HEC is a global business school with an 'active presence in over 40 countries, through its International Projects' and houses 'CanadaÆs largest and most prestigious international exchange program, involving partnerships with 76 universities and major management schools in 29 countries.' Moreover, HEC is one of the most highly decorated business institutions being the first North American school to receive simultaneous accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the Association of MBAs (UK), and the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS), and it is the first non-European school to attain the latter's recognition. HEC Montreal has been ranked among the top 100 in the world by The Wall Street Journal and Business Week has rated HEC's MBA program in the top 10 of MBAs outside of the United States.

Application Process and Requirements

Grades
Applicants must hold a bachelor degree with a "satisfactory average."

Letters of Reference
Two Letters of Reference are required one of which must be from an employer and attest to the applicant's workplace experience and performance.

Work Experience
A minimum of three years of work experience.

A satisfactory GMAT score is required..

TOEFL
For the English MBA program, a TOEFL score of 600 (paper exam), 250 (computerized test), or 88 (internet test) is required . For the French MBA program, a TOEFL score of 550 (paper exam), 213 (computerized test), or 76 (internet test) is needed..

Tuition Fees
$4.300 for Quebec residents, $9,900 for Canadian, non-Quebec residents.

Deadline
For the Fall semester, deadlines are November 1st, February 1st, and March 15th; deadline for the Winter semester, which is taught in French only, is March 15. International students should submit their applications by February 1st.
