The Master of Business Administration (MBA) program offered by +cole des Hautes +tudes Commerciales (HEC MontrTal) is designed for students who aspire to further their career opportunities in the corporate world, whether in the private or public sector. Although students will be exposed to a broad base of business knowledge, including business fundamentals and management skills and the dynamics globalization, students will have the opportunity to specialize in 1 of 9 areas including Corporate Finance, Energy Management, Entreprenurship Management, Human resource Management, Information Technologies, International Business, Investment and Portfolio Management, Marketing, and Supply Chain Management. The MBA program may be taken in 1 of 3 formats including the Intensive MBA, MBA in Action - evening format, MBA in Action - weekend format. The Intensive MBA, which admits new students in the Fall only, is a 12-month, full-time program offered in both English and French, with classes typically taught during the day, Monday to Thursday with 'special activities on Fridays.' The MBA in Action - evening format and MBA in Action - weekend formats are both part-time offerings, available in French only, which may be completed over 3 years with new student admitted in the Fall and Winter terms; the difference between the two MBA in Action formats is that the former usually holds its class Monday and Thursday evening while the latter has its classes on Saturdays and Sundays. Whichever format the student chooses, the Program will utilize 'a wide array of teaching methods, more than 50% of them based on case studies, debates and discussions, seminars, and lectures by guest managers.'
