Corporate MBA - Simon Fraser University

Segal Graduate School of Business

A contemporary, full-time MBA for individuals with non-business undergraduate degrees and less than five years of professional work experience. The MBA program provides the critical foundation in business theory and practice. Experiential opportunities are plentiful: internships, an international business study trip and site visits to local organizations. Students learn to see organizations through new lenses on leadership, ethics, sustainability and entrepreneurship.

A two-year curriculum is condensed into 12 months of intensive coursework, designed to provide students with a broad portfolio of skills as they advance their young careers.

  • The core curriculum builds a foundation in functional management areas: finance, accounting, marketing, operations, economics and strategy.
  • A set of exploratory courses encourages students to observe and question their assumptions: an international field study trip to a Pacific Rim country; essays that examine and strategically analyse a region, industry or firm; a new ventures course that develops the entrepreneurial vision and mindset; and a three-to-eight month internship at the end of the academic program to consolidate and apply learning to the workplace.
  • The program challenges students to view not just business, but their place in the world, with a series of courses that illuminate new perspectives on ethics, leadership and team building, cross-cultural management and sustainability.
