Simon Fraser University's Ph.D. in Business Administration is designed for individuals interested in 'research and teaching in Business Administration' and 'who want to work at leading international academic institutions in the future.' Students will be able to specialize in 1 of 9 areas including Accounting, Finance, Corporate Finance, Management and Organizational Studies, International Business, Technology Operations Management, Management Information Systems, Marketing, and Policy Analysis. The minimum requirements for successful completion of the program are 'five semesters residency requirement, with a minimum of 9 courses required, a third term research project, candidacy examination and a thesis defense.' Admission to the program is highly competitive with only 5 new Ph.D. candidates accepted per year. Financial assistance will be available 'for the four years required to complete the program.' Candidates with limited teaching experience are afforded the opportunity to acquire such experience through the Certificate Program for Graduate Students in University Teaching and Learning which includes 'developing and delivering an undergraduate course in the Faculty of Business Administration.' |
