Simon Fraser University's Master of Business Administration in Management of Technology is a year-long program designed for individuals who work with technology, directly or indirectly, and who want to advance their respective careers in their company or in the technology industry. The Program's curriculum, which is designed in cooperation with some of British Columbia's leading technology-based companies to ensure that it is relevant to the real world, is largely delivered through the case studies approach to education and is focussed on educating students in 'larger corporate issues,' such as 'marketing strategies, financing options, and intellectual property rights,' by emphasizing 'innovation and entrepreneurship' and 'the business of technology.' The Program is exclusively taught in Vancouver, BC at SFU's Segal Graduate School and students will complete at least 12 courses and 'a major project during the Summer semester.' Among the more unique features of the MBA is the week-long "Leadership Intensive" which is held at the beginning of each semester and 'focuses on a particular aspect of leadership and combines academic activities with personal and professional development workshops' and the "Career and Professional Development Workshops" which are 'designed to enhance your marketability to future employers.' According to the University, the average starting salary for graduates is $65,000 annually. |
