Prerequisites for Graduate Studies in Anatomy

Only non-MD undergraduate and graduate-level degrees are available in Canada, with the exception of the University of Toronto, which offers a MD in Anatomy (Department of Surgery).

Generally, a minimum grade of C must be maintained in order to continue with a major or honors degree in Anatomy.

A strong background in the biological sciences (life sciences, medical sciences, or health sciences) is required for graduate admissions; a previous undergraduate degree in Anatomy is preferable when available. Generally, an A- average in the last 2 years of the previous program is necessary for admission.

As all graduate programs require a supervisor, some schools require this person to be approved prior to final admission.
