Atmospheric Science and Meteorology Admission Requirements for Canadian Universities
Prerequisites Needed to Study Atmospheric Science and Meteorology in Canada The admission requirements for atmospheric science programs are usually similar to those of a general B.Sc. program; primarily, it is recommended that students have a strong background in math and science courses, particularly physics and chemistry. Calculus and/or other advanced math courses should be taken at the high school level. Although atmospheric science also deals with meteorology, the standards for pure meteorology programs differ greatly from school to school, and may be offered at the diploma (usually a one year program) rather than the degree level. However, a strong scientific and mathematical background is still recommended.
