What do Conflict and War Studies students learn?The focus of a conflict and war studies degree depends upon the student and the institution she or he attends. For example, RMC’s war studies program (MA) emphasizes “the practical issues of defense policy, strategic planning as well as the operational aspects of modern warfare”. Other universities focus on addressing responses to conflict at the local, personal and international levels. They study the roots of conflict (economic, political, religious, cultural, racial, psychological) so that they can develop methods of conciliation and resolution.
