What is Environmental Engineering?Environmental engineering is a form of engineering that is concerned with finding ways to minimize human impact upon the environment.
What do Environmental Engineering students learn?Environmental engineering students learn and develop new ways to protect the environment through understanding of the way pollutants affect that environment. Through a study of pollution’s effects on the land, water and air, as well as through analysis using traditional engineering principles such as hydraulics, various models for managing hazardous waste (including radioactive waste), toxic materials, solid waste and wastewater are developed and tested. Courses in computer science, biology, chemistry, environmental law, mathematics and public health are usually part of such a degree, and many institutions now offer a cooperative education option.More information about Environmental Engineering
