Several schools in Canada offer undergraduate and graduate degrees in geomatics (Ryerson University, University of Calgary, University of New Brunswick, and York University). BCIT and UNB also offer diplomas in geomatics and geomatics engineering technology.

High school completion with an average of at least 60% in English and math is required for admission to the diploma programs. Physics, earth sciences, statistics, and chemistry are recommended. UNB also requires previous work experience in geomatics. Upgrading options are usually available for those who have not completed high school or are missing prerequisites.

For undergraduate degree programs in geomatics engineering, completion of high school is once again a requirement, with an average of at least 70-80%. Generally, English, math, and physics are required. Earth sciences and/or chemistry are also recommended.
