Practical experience in health informatics, such as that found in industry or directed studies, is an asset.
To be admitted to a PhD program in health informatics, students must have a Master's-level degree in a related field. Some schools may allow direct entry to their PhD program, provided the student has an aptitude for research and sufficiently high (A-) academic marks.
