What is Interior Design?Interior design is a professional program that seeks to prepare students for a career in the design of interior spaces in the built environment.
What do Interior Design students learn?Interior design students pursue courses in the history, influence, theory and practice of the profession, from basic principles to the production of finished projects. Students learn about the development of architectural space, the analysis and application of colours, patterns, textures and finishes, fixtures and equipment specifications, furnishings, lighting, and considerations of functionality and beauty in designing human environments. They become proficient in computerized tools such as CAD programs and digital imaging technology, and may be exposed to business principles in order to enhance their professional marketability.
