What do Mathematics and Mathematical Science Students Learn?
Most mathematics students today choose to study a mix of pure and applied mathematics. Beyond topics such as calculus, algebra, probability, risk theory, fractals and number theory, they learn how mathematics can be used in real-world situations. They seek to find new structures, develop logical patterns and create models to explain these structures and predict their behaviour, often with the aid of computers.
