What is Vascular Surgery?
Vascular surgery is a branch of surgery that deals with diseases of the vascular system, except for those of the heart and brain (which are managed by cardiac surgeons and neurosurgeons, respectively). This can consist of medical therapy, minimally-invasive catheter procedures, and surgical reconstruction. Vascular diseases include aneurysms, deep vein thrombosis, varicose veins, and various lymphatic diseases.
