More than two years ago, we advised our supporters that Friends of Abandoned Pets was curtailing its work to deal solely with the cats and dogs already in our care. This was mainly due to a larger number of pets already in foster homes, an unprecedented number of previously adopted pets being returned to our care and fewer volunteers to manage the organization's day-to-day tasks.

Friends of Forsaken Animals, formerly Animal Crusaders of Ontario, was formed in 1997 by Sonia Trettin. We are a no-kill, non-profit, all volunteer cat rescue. Our cats come to us as strays, from high-volume pounds or as owner surrenders. Volunteers also feed, spay/neuter and vaccinate cats from feral colonies.

If you adopt a dog from us we do request a $300.00 one time donation to help defray vetting costs and to be able to help the next injured, ill, or homeless dog. Our dogs are fostered in private homes, therefore any "meet and greets" are done at the time of your scheduled 'home visit'. We gratefully accept gently used comforters, blankets, towels and any monetary donations. **Any kitties/cats listed are a $50.00 one time donation, also to help with vet care. ALL dogs and cats are 100% vetted.
