Algonquin Careers Academy has been around for close to 25 years, growing to become one of the foremost colleges to offer vocational diploma programs in Ottawa and Toronto. Industry professionals, helping students excel in their career, impart the focused career training through small sized classes and personalized attention. Apart from classroom lessons, Algonquin help their students get real life work experience through non-remunerative co-op work placements with real employers with whom the college is tied up. Algonquin Careers Academy is accredited by The Ontario Association of Career Colleges and National Association of Career Colleges. They are partnered with the Association of Canadian Travel Agents, Canadian Institute of Travel Counselors and Society of Travel and Tourism Educators. Algonquin offers regular as well as online and correspondence courses to enable its students learn at their own pace. They offer a variety of programs. The Travel and Hospitality programs include a diploma, online and correspondence program and an Adventure Travel program. The Healthcare programs include Medical Office Assistant, Personal Support Worker, Medical Lab Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, Bridging Programs, and Aging Seminars. The Business Program includes Accounting and Payroll Administrator and new paralegal diploma programs. Several online computer courses are also offered. The Personal Support Worker program has been recently introduced through part time evening classes. Students have the chance to apply the knowledge gained and develop the confidence required to stay ahead in their chosen career plus find suitable placements.
