The Cowansville Vocational Education Training Centre in based in Quebec and offers a wide range of training programs, aimed at equipping students with the skills needed to procure regional employment. Vocational studies diploma courses are offered for a number of subjects and local industry training is given for certain subjects.
The centre offers a number of diploma courses for subjects like accounting, desktop publishing, secretarial studies and machining techniques. The Cowansville Vocational Education Training Centre currently has 23 full time teachers who assist students in all aspects of learning. Traditional teaching methods and individual mentoring based on the needs of the student are also offered. Extra tutoring programs are given and a counselor is available to help students deal with other issues. Diversified programs are offered which suit both industry and student needs.
The Cowansville Vocational Education Training Centre is also home to an Enhanced Learning Strategy program which is aimed at empowering local students and increasing enrolment and attendance in local schools. The centre also works closely with the local community, particularly with small businesses and works together with them to train students for the workforce. This offers graduates immediate employment options and gives employers the satisfaction of having a well-trained workforce. The Cowansville Vocational Education Training Centre has plans for renovations and hopes to further explore venues of vocational education and work together with the community and local industry for mutually beneficial results.
