The International Academy of Esthetics is based in the province of Alberta and offers a range of comprehensive diploma and certificate courses in various aspects of esthetics. It is the first vocational institute in the province to offer a laser practitioner program. The training involves instruction in medicine, eastern philosophy and progressive esthetics to give students a complete and rounded view of the esthetics industry. The beauty industry is one of the most popular industries today and it is growing at a rapid rate. The International Academy of Esthetics prides itself in keeping abreast with the latest trends in the world of esthetics so that students can enter the job market with the skills necessary to survive in this challenging field. The courses teach students all aspects of beauty and wellness as well as how to handle themselves in a pleasing and professional manner. The academy's esthetics program spans 6 months and currently has a 100% placement rate for its graduates. On completion, students will receive a diploma which is valid throughout North America. The Laser Practitioner program is a certificate course and covers roughly 39 hours. Other certificate programs for waxing, facial and skin treatments, manicures and gel nails are also available. Part time licensed programs are also available for make up artistry, massage and nail artistry. Students at the International Academy of Esthetics also perform treatments on clients under supervision. This gives them hands-on practical experience of how to work in a professional esthetic environment.
