  • Advanced Specialty Certificate in Forensic Science - British Columbia Institute of Technology
    The British Columbia Institute of Technology's Advanced Specialty Certificate in Forensic Science is a part-time program designed 'to enhance the theoretical knowledge base and investigative capabilities of the people who work alongside specialized professionals in the diverse fields involved in solving a crime.' The Program will enable students to specialize in 1 of 3 areas including Computer Crime, Economic Crime, or Forensic Science or pursue a general studies course via the Essentials of Criminalistics option.

  • Introduction to Police Recruit Training - Justice Institute of British Columbia
    The Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC) offers police recruit training comprised of 'a balanced mix of skill training, academic education, and practical field experience relevant to policing in today's complex society.' To be eligible for police training, candidates must first be employed by 1 of British Columbia's 12 police divisions.

  • Auxiliary/Reserve Constable Training in BC - Justice Institute of British Columbia
    The Justice Institute of British Columbia's Auxiliary/Reserve Constable Training is designed for individuals employed with a police department in BC. The Training is comprised of 'a balanced mix of skill training, academic education, and practical field experience relevant to policing in today's complex society.'

  • Bylaw Enforcement and Investigative Skills Certificate - Justice Institute of British Columbia
    The Bylaw Enforcement and Investigative Skills program, offered at the Justice Institute of British Columbia's (JIBC's) Centre for Leadership and Community learning, consists of 2 levels of certification. To complete the Program, both levels of certification must be completed. However, individuals interested in a career as a Bylaw Enforcement Officer and/or who 'need to qualify for a competitive position' may take individual courses without enrolling in the Program.

    The Justice Institute of British Columbia, via the Police Academy, offers International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certified training, both in Canada and around the world, in policing and security to candidates of foreign countries. The Academy is home to a faculty that 'are fully qualified, recognized specialists in their field.' including 'a range of professionals who specialize in a broad spectrum of police and security fields.'

  • Deputy Sheriff Employment Readiness Program - Justice Institute of British Columbia
    The Justice Institute of British Columbia's 'nine and a half week' Deputy Sheriff Employment Readiness Program equips candidates with the 'the skills and knowledge to undertake the duties and responsibilities' of Deputy Sheriffs. The latter, which are part of Court Services, are chiefly responsible for performing bailiff services for various courts.

  • Law Enforcement Preparatory program - Nicola Valley Institute of Technology
    Nicola Valley Institute of Technology's 1-year Law Enforcement Preparatory program prepares students to meet the entrance requirements of various law enforcement agencies, such as the ability to pass the RCMP Police Aptitude Test (RPAT). The Program is offered in partnership 'with the Town of Merritt' along with 'its local businesses' and the RCMP's E Division.

  • Bachelor of General Studies (Police Option) Degree - University College of the Fraser Valley
    The University College of the Fraser Valley's (UCFV's) 120-credit Bachelor of General Studies (Police Option) Degree is designed for police officers and 'other experienced peace officers and government officials who hold positions as investigators' aspiring to a career 'as criminal investigators and/or police managers.' The Program enables students to earn a Baccalaureate degree specializing in criminal investigation or police leadership.
