People with a degree in emergency management can work in a variety of private and public organizations. They can work for International Association of Emergency Managers, Red Cross, the United Nations, or the World Bank. They work to provide information, networking and professional opportunities, and to advance the emergency management profession. They can also specialize in the recovery component of the emergency management framework.
Emergency managers can also work for Public Safety Canada, where they coordinate and support the efforts of federal organizations ensuring the national security and the safety of Canadians. They also work with other levels of government, first responders, community groups, the private sector (operators of critical infrastructure), and other countries.
