What is Rheumatology?
Rheumatology is branch of internal medicine and pediatrics that is concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of rheumatic diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, tendonitis, rickets, and osteoporosis. They deal mainly with clinical problems involving joints, soft tissues, muscles, and the associated connective tissues.
Rheumatology is similar to immunology as many rheumatoid diseases are immunological diseases as well. It is a subspecialty of both internal medicine and pediatrics.
