Toronto Film College was made so that students who wished for training in film and television production could have their dream. The institute is an accredited private career college based in Toronto in Canada. The college offers diplomas and certificates in film arts and production, dramatic arts, film promotion, and scriptwriting.
The diploma course at Toronto Film College trains students how to shoot film and edit audio and visual elements with finesse. Students learn the different techniques that go into making great television programs, music videos, short films, documentaries, and feature films. At the end of the course, students will have to make a demo DVD of their creations.
The film course is 28 weeks divided into four terms of seven weeks each. Students must complete 8 modules that cover topics such as film production, film history, cinematography, audio and video editing, directing, special effects, documentaries and film celebrities. Students will also have to attend two workshops as part of the course.
Toronto Film College has well-equipped studios, latest cameras and non linear editing suites with software like Final Cut Pro. After completing the course, students are given internships in local media companies. Students who graduate are eligible for entry-level jobs as television production assistants, news assistants, camerapersons, or editing assistants. Some students make their own films while others start out as assistants in the movie industry.
