Prerequisites for Graduate Studies in Biomechanics

Several Canadian universities offer graduate study in biomechanics. A previous degree in a related discipline (eg. biology, biological engineering) with a minimum B+ average is required for admission. Some schools also require some form of advanced experience in biomechanics (eg. co-op, directed studies, industry experience, etc.).

Admission to a PhD program in biomechanics can either be directly from an undergraduate degree (in addition to already having extensive research experience and a high academic average) or after acquiring a relevant Master's-level degree.

As all graduate programs require a supervisor, most schools require this person to be approved prior to final admission.
