The Alberta Community & Cooperative Association or ACCA works toward strengthening Alberta communities through Youth Programs, and leadership and development programs. To achieve this, they offer coop development resources, youth and adult education, rural development, administrative services, conference coordination and financial management to credit unions, cooperatives and agricultural organizations. ACCA’s objective is to promote and foster a healthy cooperative sector.
ACCA’s youth program creates opportunities for young people to work on developing their skills, get familiar with cooperatives while building lasting relationships in a fun environment. The youth programs focus on cooperation, respect, integrity, personal growth, learning, community, safety and professionalism. ACCA’s Co-op Development Program is funded through the federal Co-operatives Secretariat program.
For organizations, ACCA’s training and workshops are delivered at site and include Parliamentary Procedures, Conflict Management and Resolution, The Essentials of Corporate Governance, Financial Analysis and Planning, How to Create Effective Presentations, Cooperative Basics, Frontline Leadership, Elected to Lead and Making Presentations to Small and Large Groups.
In the field of rural development, ACCA conducts The Bridge Builders program that deals with urban and rural perceptions of rural Alberta and rural Albertans.
