Horticulture Centre of the Pacific is located in the municipality of Saanich on southern Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. It houses The Pacific Horticulture College, which trains students for career in horticulture. The HCP manages about 103 acres of land that houses around 10,000 varieties of plants, giving the students an excellent opportunity to study them.
Horticulture Centre of the Pacific offers students programs such as the accredited landscape horticulture certificate program, master gardener course, junior gardener course, courses for the horticultural therapy course, and home gardeners courses. The Horticulture Centre library was established to help students and houses more than 2500 gardening and horticulture-related books. Books from all kinds of subjects that are as diverse as arboriculture to zeriscaping are available
Horticulture Centre of the Pacific therapy program involves 160 hours of study plus 100 hours of homework. These courses are taken up by teachers, horticulturists and those working in healthcare fields. Classes are conducted Monday to Friday from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm. The junior gardener program is aimed at children between 7 and 10 years. These classes are held on Saturdays between 9.30 am to 12 pm for 20 sessions.
Horticulture Centre of the Pacific offers students a unique chance to learn in a school that houses such a wide variety of plants. The Victoria Master Gardener Association offers the master gardener course of 31 three-hour sessions. The duration is 16 weeks, and the faculty consists of experienced experts.
