Prana Yoga College was established in 1982 and is accredited by the Private Career Training Institutions Agency of British Columbia. Its teacher training programs are certified by the Yoga Alliance. It is located in Vancouver, British Columbia. It specializes in teaching Hatha Yoga. The college offers a 200-hour program and a 500-hour program for students and a 500-hour program for teachers. The programs do not just teach asanas/postures. The programs are designed to provide an overall understanding of Yoga. Students are taught about anatomy and physiology to show how the body functions. There are many variations in the asanas. Each student is taught the variation that is right for him/her. Students are also taught Zen meditation, history and philosophy of Yoga, body language correction, Pranayama, and kriya. The college provides Yoga Teacher Certification. There are numerous workshops and seminars that are conducted at Prana Yoga College. Some of the workshops that would be held in the future will be on Kriya Yoga, Liver Cleansing, Five Tibetans, Spirituality, and Business and Money. Students who complete the program can teach with confidence and precision. They also learn to integrate asana with meditation. What you learn here will last you a lifetime. Students are also eligible for student loans through British Columbia Student Assistance Program. This is only applicable for the 500-hour programs.
