What is Cognitive Science?Cognitive science is an interdisciplinary program that seeks to understand the processes of human and artificial (computer) cognition.
What do Cognitive Science students learn?Cognitive science programs are sometimes associated with educational psychology or biology departments, but more frequently they form a department of their own closely affiliated with the disciplines of linguistics, computer science, psychology and philosophy. Students learn about and research the nature of perception and memory, the function of different areas of the brain, the structure and acquisition of language, the philosophy of language and the mind, and the capacity for machines such as computers and robots to learn. Most choose to specialize in areas that mirror their own particular interests.
