Forest and Forestry Admission Requirements for Canadian Universities
Prerequisites Needed to Study Forest and Forestry in Canada The admission requirements for forestry programs are usually at least as stringent as those of a general B.Sc. program; primarily, it is recommended that students have a strong background in math and science courses, particularly physics and chemistry. Calculus and/or other advanced math courses should be taken at the high school level. Forestry technology diplomas are also offered by certain colleges; academic admission requirements for those programs are generally not as strict, but the above prerequisites are still recommended, and previous work experience in forestry may be an asset. Because of the amount of field work involved (especially in diploma programs) it is also recommended that students also be in good health.
