What do Land Resource and Soil Science Students Learn?

Soil science and land resource degrees are offered sometimes as B.Sc. degree programs, and sometimes as B.Sc.Agr. (Bachelor of Science in Agriculture) or B.Sc.Env. (Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science) degrees. It is a program that concerns itself with various disciplines, including biology, chemistry, geology, physics, environmental science, atmospheric science, and natural resource management. Students in some institutions have the opportunity to specialize or branch out into topics including hydrology, forestry, plant nutrition, soil pollution, irrigation, ecology and rural development in the pursuit of this interdisciplinary degree. In all cases, they learn to develop and implement effective and innovative land use policies.
