Pacific Design Academy was founded in 1991 and is located in Victoria, BC. It is an accredited private college and is registered with the Private Career Training Institution Agency. The college is all about design. The programs are designed to nurture your drawing, drafting, and illustration skills so that you think and design creatively. The curriculum is designed by instructors who are also practicing professional designers. The programs provide market-relevant knowledge and skills. The aim is to equip students with highly marketable skills. The curriculum is supported by the latest digital technology. Relevant software applications are taught with Macintosh computers, the standard in the design industry. The classes are small, so that each student can receive individual attention. The college offers eight full-time programs. Students can choose any of the following full-time programs: Building Technology, Fashion Design, Graphic Design, Graphic Media Design, Interior Architectural Design, Interior Design, Landscape Design, and Event Planning. There are lots of career opportunities available to a PDA graduate. Graduates can look forward to a career as a draftsman, a computer aided design operator, or a freelance designer. Graduates of the Fashion Design program can have career opportunities as fashion consultants. They can also start their own clothing line or specialize in designing hats, bags, and accessories. Graphic designers are sought by newspapers, marketing and advertising agencies, magazines, and product packaging companies. As you can see, there is no shortage of career opportunities for PDA graduates.
