  • Community and Justice Services - Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology
    Algonquin College's 2-year Community and Justice Services program combines theoretical and practical education to provide students the knowledge and skills allowing them to pursue employment 'in the community and justice services field.' Students will be 'trained in the legal and theoretical aspects of crime and behaviour, interviewing and intervention skills for young and adult offenders, and victims, as well as in security measures and techniques.' The Program will include 2 seven-week field placements 'in a community and justice services setting' during the 2nd year of study.

  • Correctional Worker - Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology
    Algonquin College's 2-year Correctional Worker Diploma combines theoretical and practical education to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to work in a variety of careers in the correctional field. The Program will include 2 seven-week work experience placements in correctional settings. The Placements will place emphasis 'on writing reports, assessments and case management, as well as client/worker interactions.'

  • Correctional Services Worker - Cambrian College of Applied Arts and Technology
    Cambrian College's 2-year Correctional Services Worker diploma prepares 'students for para-professional employment in the field of corrections.' Students will acquire intensive training in 'the knowledge and skills required to work effectively in key areas of corrections' as well as have the opportunity to partake in 'a 5-week, 200 hour maximum, work experience placement at the end of the fourth semester.'

  • Correctional Worker - Community and Justice Services (CORW) - Cambrian College of Applied Arts and Technology
    Cambrian College's 2-year Diploma in Correctional Worker - Community and Justice Services prepares 'students for employment in the field of corrections.' During the second year of the Program, students will have the opportunity to participate in 'a 5-week, 200 hour maximum, work experience placement.'

  • Correctional Worker - Canadore College
    Canadore College's 2-year Correctional Worker diploma exposes students to the knowledge and skills required 'for entry level and management positions in' various areas of corrections and related areas and agencies. The Program is developed and delivered in partnership with personnel 'from the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services, Correctional Service of Canada, Youth Justice Services, and other associated agencies.'

  • Criminal Psychology and Behaviour - Centennial College of Applied Arts and Technology
    Centennial College's Criminal Psychology and Behaviour program is a specialized criminology certificate designed primarily for 'individuals who have a special interest in criminal psychology and behaviour' and/or 'who are working or volunteering in a corrections program,' women's shelter, 'youth at risk,' or related environments or initiatives. The Program may be completed entirely though distance education.

  • Community and Justice Services - Centennial College of Applied Arts and Technology
    Centennial College's 2-year Community and Justice Services diploma prepares students for careers in community and justice services or related fields. Emphasizing 'prevention, intervention and rehabilitative strategies,' the Program will expose students to 'expert knowledge, skills and training to work in diverse settings that address those people who are at risk, currently incarcerated or involved with the criminal justice system and/or involved in rehabilitation programs.'

  • Penology and Youth Certificate - Durham College
    Durham College's 1-year Ontario College Certificate in 911 and Emergency Response is a unique, career-oriented program designed for individuals interested in careers in 'emergency response, dispatch and communications.' The Program's curriculum 'has been designed in consultation with, and is supported by, the full cross-section of potential employers' thus ensuring that graduates have the skills, knowledge, and abilities that are in relevant and demand for this type of work.

  • Correctional Worker - Lambton College of Applied Arts and Technology
    Lambton College's 2-year Correctional Worker program prepares students for careers in various 'areas of correction.' The Program's first year will introduce students 'to the criminal justice system, and the behavioural sciences.' The final year will emphasize 'the practical skills and knowledge required to function effectively as a Correctional Worker.'

  • Correctional Worker - Loyalist College of Applied Arts and Technology
    Loyalist College's 2-year Correctional Worker program prepares students for careers in various areas of corrections and related areas and agencies. The Program has two main goals including to develop students' 'understanding and skills necessary' to effectively deal with and assist offenders and to provide students with a strong, practical knowledge of the Canadian criminal justice system.

  • Community and Justice Services - Loyalist College of Applied Arts and Technology
    Loyalist College's 2-year Diploma in Community and Justice Services prepares students for a career in community and justice services or related fields. Students will be equipped with the abilities to work with individuals who are involved or are at risk of becoming involved in criminal activity, are currently incarcerated or on parole, or are undergoing rehabilitation and/or reintegration into society.

  • Community and Justice Services (Correctional Worker) - Niagara College
    Providing training in intervention, prevention, and rehabilitative strategies, Niagara College's 2-year Diploma in Community and Justice Services (Correctional Worker) will expose students to the knowledge and skills to work in a wide range of settings in community and justice services or related fields. The Program will also include mandatory physical fitness courses and experiential learning opportunities.

  • Correctional Worker (Institutions, Community and Young Offender Services) - Sheridan Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning
    Sheridan Institute's 2-year Correctional Worker program prepares students for a career in various areas of corrections and related areas and agencies. The Program equips students with 'a theoretical foundation in the area of social sciences, with particular focus on psychology, criminal law and criminology.'

  • Correctional Worker - Sir Sandford Fleming College
    Sir Sandford Fleming College's 2-year Correctional Worker diploma prepares students 'for entry level and management positions in' various areas of corrections and related areas and agencies. The College also offers students the unique 'option to take courses designed from an aboriginal perspective with the learning environment based on Native culture, traditions, languages and spirituality.'
